Red Deer, 2. Plucked

I looked at her, I wanted to tell her, I don't think she's all bad, that her face looks marvelous depite the bruises

But I just couldn't manage any of it, She only smiled, her smile wonderfully obscuring her inky tears, and studied my then- baby face

I don't think she thought of me as all bad either.
